Licensed Mental Health Counselor | LMHC
Patricia McGlothlin, MA, LMHC, NCC, is a licensed mental health counselor, certified life coach, clinical supervisor, counselor educator, and founder of Flourish Wellness: Therapy & Life Coaching in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She provides in-person counseling in Jacksonville Beach and telehealth therapy throughout Florida. She also offers virtual life, relationship, divorce recovery, and personal development coaching to clients throughout the United States and internationally.
Patricia works with adults and couples who may appear capable and high-functioning on the outside while privately carrying trauma, relational pain, anxiety, burnout, betrayal, grief, or uncertainty about what comes next. Many of her clients have spent years caring for others, holding their families together, overthinking every decision, or trying to remain strong through experiences that have left them feeling disconnected from themselves.
Her specialties include trauma and EMDR, betrayal trauma, narcissistic abuse recovery, couples therapy, infidelity and trust repair, divorce recovery, collaborative divorce, high-conflict relationship dynamics, adult ADHD, emotional regulation, attachment wounds, high-functioning burnout, perfectionism, grief, identity development, and major life transitions.
Patricia is especially passionate about helping clients understand the deeper emotional, relational, and spiritual patterns beneath what they are experiencing. Her work goes beyond temporarily reducing symptoms. She helps clients develop greater clarity, strengthen emotional regulation, rebuild trust in themselves, establish healthy boundaries, heal painful relationship wounds, and create lives that feel grounded, meaningful, and aligned with who God created them to be.
For couples, Patricia provides a compassionate but honest space to address communication breakdowns, emotional disconnection, recurring conflict, betrayal, infidelity, attachment injuries, and loss of trust. She helps couples slow destructive patterns, understand what is happening beneath their conflict, and discern whether and how their relationship can be repaired. Her approach honors the significance of marriage while also taking abuse, coercion, betrayal, abandonment, and emotional safety seriously.
Patricia believes that Christian faith and excellent mental health care do not have to exist in separate spaces. For clients who desire faith-integrated counseling or coaching, she thoughtfully incorporates Christian values, biblical reflection, prayer, spiritual discernment, grace, and the client’s relationship with God into the work. Instead, she helps clients explore what faithfulness, wisdom, forgiveness, accountability, boundaries, restoration, and healing may genuinely require in their particular situation.
Her clinical approach is trauma-informed, relational, attachment-based, emotionally warm, and appropriately direct. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral approaches, somatic and nervous-system regulation strategies, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. Clients often describe her as someone who creates a deeply accepting environment while also offering the insight, honesty, and practical direction needed to create meaningful change.
Patricia’s coaching services are designed for individuals who are not seeking mental health treatment but want structured, supportive guidance as they navigate personal growth, relationship patterns, divorce recovery, major decisions, career development, identity shifts, or a desire to live with greater purpose and intentionality. Coaching is future-focused and action-oriented, helping clients clarify their goals, recognize obstacles, strengthen confidence, and translate insight into meaningful next steps. Virtual coaching is available nationwide and internationally.
Patricia holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a National Certified Counselor. She is completing her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Liberty University, where her research focuses on divorce, resilience, relationship fracture, and post-traumatic growth. In addition to her clinical work, she serves as a counselor educator and clinical supervisor, supporting the development of emerging mental health professionals. She also holds specialized coaching certifications in divorce, relationships, career development, and human flourishing.
Patricia brings not only advanced professional training but also a deeply personal understanding of rebuilding after painful and life-altering experiences. Her work is informed by her own journey through betrayal, relational loss, divorce, single parenthood, grief, restoration, blended family life, and the process of creating meaning after seasons that did not unfold as expected. She understands that healing is rarely simple, linear, or accomplished through positive thinking alone.
Her goal is to offer clients a place where they can bring their whole story, including their faith, doubts, pain, relationships, and hopes for the future. You do not have to arrive with everything figured out. Counseling or coaching can become a place to make sense of what you have carried, reconnect with your God-given worth, and move toward a life marked by greater freedom, wisdom, connection, and flourishing.
